Clone Terminator is a duplicate file finder for Windows. It scans your hard drive or any other folder on your system in search of files that have duplicates; that is to say, that are identical. The application uses a wizard to guide the user through the few steps that are necessary. The first step consists in selecting the folder that you want to scan for duplicates. You can select any folder that you want, even full hard drives or CD and DVD discs. The more files there are in a folder, the longest the application will take to find duplicates. So selecting full hard drives might not be a good idea.
In my testing, Clone Terminator took a little under ten minutes to scan my whole hard drive. I thought it was going to take considerably longer than that. When the application detects duplicates, it groups them. It launches another window named Editor which shows all the groups found. For each group you get all the instances of a repeated file. From there, if you buy the full version of this application, you can delete them.
You should be aware that deleting certain files can damage your system, so you should double and triple check before deleting a file you don't know anything about.
